Subnautica 2 Biomes

Explore the diverse underwater ecosystems of the Ariadne Arm. Each biome presents unique challenges, resources, and dangers across varying depth ranges.

Coral Gardens

0-100m

Vibrant coral reef ecosystems with multiple sub-regions including Anemone Hills, Blighted Coral, Graveyard, Leadzone, North Raceway, Plateaus, South Raceway, and Tufa Towers. Rich in early-game resources.

Overgrown Ruins

50-200m

Ancient alien structures swallowed by ocean flora. Contains the Observatory sub-region. Dense with rare materials and architectural remnants of a lost civilization.

Crag Canyons

100-300m

Deep rocky ravines carved by ancient currents. Narrow passages between towering rock formations. Home to aggressive fauna and valuable mineral deposits.

Thermal Vents

200-400m

Hydrothermal vent fields billowing superheated water. Extreme temperatures but abundant with heat-resistant flora and unique mineral formations found nowhere else.

Abyssal Trench

400-500m+

The deepest known point in the Ariadne Arm. Pitch-black waters where only bioluminescent life thrives. Contains the most valuable resources and the largest leviathans.

Axum Spire & Quarry

150-350m

A massive underwater spire rising from the seabed surrounded by excavated quarry zones. Rich in rare metals and alien artifacts. High leviathan activity reported.

Navigate Without a Map

Like the original Subnautica, there is no in-game map in Subnautica 2. Players must navigate using coordinates, compass bearings, and recognizable landmarks with the starting Life Pod as the primary reference point.

Our interactive map provides toggleable biome overlays, resource location markers, leviathan danger zones, and POI markers to help you explore the Ariadne Arm without getting lost.
